1. Standard Cancellation & Refund Schedule
Unless a trip page states otherwise, the following standard refund structure applies:
| Cancellation timing | Refund amount |
|---|---|
| 7 or more days before departure date | 50% of total booking amount |
| Less than 7 days before departure date | No refund |
| No-show (failure to board without prior notice) | No refund |
Some premium or peak-season packages (e.g. Char Dham, long weekends, festival dates) may have stricter terms such as 75% refund if cancelled 14+ days before travel, or 25% refund between 7–14 days. Always check the Cancellation Policy section on your trip page before booking.
2. How to Request a Cancellation
- Log in to your GoSafar India account and open My Trips, or email us at info@gosafar.in with your booking ID.
- Clearly state the reason for cancellation and the booking reference number.
- Cancellation is effective from the date and time we acknowledge your request in writing—not from the date you intend to travel.
- Refunds are calculated based on the scheduled departure date of your booked trip.
3. Refund Processing
- Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method used at booking (UPI, card, or net banking via Razorpay).
- Refunds typically take 7–10 business days to reflect in your account after approval. Bank and payment gateway timelines may vary.
- Convenience fees, payment gateway charges, or third-party service fees may be non-refundable where applicable.
- GST or taxes already remitted to authorities may be adjusted as per applicable law.
4. Partial Payments & Instalments
If you paid only a partial amount (advance) and cancel before the balance due date, the refund will be calculated on the total contracted package price according to the cancellation schedule above. Any unpaid balance is waived upon cancellation.
If you fail to pay the remaining balance by the communicated deadline, the booking may be auto-cancelled and the advance amount may be forfeited.
5. Rescheduling
- Date changes may be allowed on select trips, subject to availability and a rescheduling fee (if applicable).
- Rescheduling requests made 7+ days before departure are more likely to be accommodated without penalty.
- Rescheduling within 7 days of departure is treated as a cancellation and rebooking; standard refund rules apply to the original booking.
- Fare differences apply if the new departure date is priced higher.
6. Cancellations by GoSafar India
If we cancel a trip due to insufficient group size, operational issues, safety concerns, or force majeure (weather, road blockages, government orders, etc.), you will receive:
- A 100% refund of the amount paid, or
- Free transfer to the next available departure date (your choice).
We are not liable for additional expenses you may have incurred (e.g. flights to the departure city, visa fees) in the event of our cancellation.
7. Non-Refundable Items
The following are generally non-refundable once booked or availed:
- Third-party tickets, permits, or entry fees already purchased on your behalf.
- Hotel no-show charges or early check-out penalties imposed by the property.
- Services partially used before cancellation (e.g. completed leg of a multi-city tour).
- Bookings made under special promotional or non-refundable fare categories (clearly marked at checkout).
8. Failed or Duplicate Payments
If your account was debited but the booking was not confirmed, the amount will be automatically reversed by the payment gateway within 5–7 business days. If not, contact us with your transaction ID and we will assist in resolution.
9. Disputes
If you believe a refund was calculated incorrectly, contact us within 14 days of receiving the refund confirmation. We will review your case and respond within 7 business days.
